Life is Short my friend and so is this blog post.
It’s a quote from one of the case studies in ‘Sell Up, Pack Up & Take Off’ by Stephen Wyatt & Colleen Ryan. The book explores how to live a more luxurious life for a fraction of the cost overseas and Suzanne, a woman who made the move from Coolangatta to the French Alps, says:
‘People, from what I have witnessed, need to have ducks in a row. If the ducks aren’t in a row they can’t do something. Whereas if you wait for all your ducks to be in a row – you know: ‘I have got my pension, I have my super, I have sold my house, my daughter got married, my second daughter has a boyfriend, or the grandchildren are in school’ – then the ducks are in a row and ‘Oh by the way, I have got breast cancer.’
So today’s suggestion is to say Quack that. If there is something you are waiting to start or somewhere you would rather be, ducks be damned. Take the leap because regret is a bitter pill.
This Get Happier tip was brought to you by someone who prefers her ducks in a pancake.
